About the LGBTQ Resource & Information Guide (RIG)

The LGBTQ guide was created to help students find and use resources located in the field of LGBT studies. Use the tabs across the top of the screen to navigate the guide. There are a lot of resources available! It is a work in progress, so all feedback, questions, and suggestions are welcome.

Quick Links to Informative LGBTQ Websites is the largest archived website focusing only on gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and queer (glbtq) education and culture. The site shut down due to funding issues on August 1, 2015.

The It Gets Better Project's mission is to inspire changes needed to make life better for all LGBT individuals.

The Human Civil Rights Campaign is the largest civil rights organization with over 1.5 million members and supporters.

"LGBT, LGBTQ, LGBTQA, TBLG:  These acronyms refer to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer or Questioning, and Asexual or Ally. Although all of the different identities within “LGBT” are often lumped together (and share sexism as a common root of oppression), there are specific needs and concerns related to each individual identity."
