Library and Learning Commons - Faculty Resources: How to Embed Films on Demand Videos

This guide provides an overview of library services and resources available to FSCJ faculty.

How to Embed Films on Demand Videos

You can "embed" Films on Demand videos directly into Blackboard. The videos will automatically play when the patron is properly logged into the Library and Learning Commons. Following are steps that can assist with this process.

Step 1. Go to the Films on Demand site and select a video or segment you wish to embed.

Step 2: Select Embed/Link below the video.

Step 3: Select the "size" of the video.

Step 4: Paste the Films on Demand code into the embed form in Blackboard.

Step 5: Be sure to test on and off campus.

Troubleshooting:  If your video does not display and play in Blackboard, first make sure you are logged in to the Library and Learning Commons through Artemis or Connections. If it still does not play, make sure the FSCJ proxy code http://db08.linccweb.org/login?url= has been included and is in the correct position, or contact your campus or center librarian.

Here is the FSCJ proxy code that you should see in the embed code: http://db08.linccweb.org/login?url=

Sample accurate embed code (note the exact position of the FSCJ code):

<iframe height='390' frameborder='0' style='border:1px solid #ddd;' width='420' src='http://db08.linccweb.org/login?url=https://fod.infobase.com/OnDemandEmbed.aspx?token=40137&wID=20878&plt=FOD&loid=0&w=400&h=340&fWidth=420&fHeight=390' allowfullscreen >&nbsp;</iframe>

How to Embed Films into Blackboard

You can "embed" films into Blackboard by using the HTML text editor.  This will allow the video to automatically play when the patron is properly logged into the Library and Learning Commons.

1. Under Build Content choose Item.

2. Enter a Name for the video and select the HTML option.

3. Paste the copied Embed code into the box. Select Update.

4.  You will see a yellow square in your text box.  That is okay, click submit and your video should appear as in the example below.
