Liberal Arts and Sciences ETS Proficiency Profile: Home

The assessment, called the ETS Proficiency Profile, is designed to help FSCJ understand if we are meeting our goals for the A.A. degree program with a special focus on general education outcomes like reading, math and critical thinking.

Everyone -

By completing the assessment, you are entered into a drawing to win your choice of a $600 scholarship or laptop.

Before You Start

Your participation in the first annual Liberal Arts and Sciences student assessment will help us evaluate academic programming and could earn you a laptop or scholarship money.

Whether you are just starting at FSCJ or about to graduate, all current A.A. students are invited to take this voluntary assessment. We need you to show what you know!

The assessment, called the ETS Proficiency Profile, is designed to help FSCJ understand if we are meeting our goals for the A.A. degree program with a special focus on general education outcomes like reading, math and critical thinking. Your responses will help us enhance our general education classes.

The deadline to take the assessment has been extended until December 19, 2021.

Start Here

The assessment is open now and will close once we receive 1,600 responses. It is designed to be taken online without proctoring but can also be taken at any of FSCJ’s Assessment Centers or Libraries. If you would like to take the assessment on campus, click here to schedule an appointment at one of the FSCJ Assessment Centers.

Before you begin, please be sure you have your FSCJ Student ID number and the Microsoft Edge browser for Windows devices or Safari 11 browser for Mac devices. Please follow the steps below to begin.

**If you are completing the assessment at the FSCJ Assessment Center or one of the campus/center Libraries, please view the instructions and skip to step 4.

1. Click here to view and print instructions from ETS (The assessment takes about 45 minutes, the set-up takes about 10-15 minutes.)

2. Follow the directions to run a systems check to make sure your computer is ready

3. Follow the directions to download the secure ETS browser

4. Use the session number 716164-138226984 to register and create a profile. Be sure to include the dash when entering the session number.  Be sure to include your FSCJ Student ID in the “ID Number” field.

5. Begin the assessment

6. Answer the questions to the best of your ability

 

Additional Information:

  • You will only have one attempt to complete the assignment.

  • All questions are multiple choice.

  • The assessment takes about 45 minutes, the set-up takes about 10-15 minutes.

  • Individual scores are not shared with anyone—we will look at the performance of groups such as age, race, gender and full- or part-time status.

  • This will not affect your grades in any way. Scores will not appear on your transcript.

  • Help is available by phone or email from ETS. See ETS contact information noted on the right side of this page.

  • Winners of scholarships and laptop will be notified after the assessment is closed. We will feature the winners on social media with their permission.

  • For testing accommodations, please contact studentresearchlm@fscj.edu

  • The survey must be completed in one session. You will not be able to save your progress so please make sure you have reserved enough time to make your way through the entire survey.

 

Assessment scores will not be individualized and do not affect grades, graduation requirements and financial aid eligibility. Scores will help the College evaluate improvements in learning outcomes for the A.A. degree program.
