Federal Work Study  

Seeking Student Lab Assistant in Aquaponics

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Care and maintenance of fish and plants.
  • Collaborating with lab manager to organize, prepare
    and maintain
    equipment, materials, and chemicals for the lab.
  • Safely organize, store, and inventory materials
    and supplies.

There is opportunity in this position to develop these
transferable skills:

  • Water Quality Analysis
  • Plant Care
  • Fish Care
  • Aquaponics
  • Hydroponics

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Students must be enrolled in an eligible degree program
  • Students must be enrolled in at least six credit hours
  • Minimum GPA of a 2.0

Getting Started

Students interested in service-learning and
civic engagement experiences need to:

  • Speak with an advisor to find courses
    that offer service-learning opportunities
  • Check with professors and course syllabi
    for specific requirements
  • Complete and submit required forms to
    professors, which will be shared with the
    Center for Civic Engagement after final grades
  • Be open to new experiences
  • Search for opportunities through the Center for Civic
    Engagement Community Partners and service Learning Activities.
