Dance, as a form of human expression and social activity, likely originated in prehistoric times. Evidence of dance can be traced back to ancient cave paintings and artifacts dating as far back as 9,000 years ago, with some scholars suggesting that dance existed even earlier as a natural part of human culture and ritual practices.
