What revisions were made to the Research Skills Mini Course?

  • The RSMC has been condensed to make it easier to complete within a single semester. Instead of 8 modules, the RSMC has been condensed to the six modules shown in the infographic above.
  • The RSMC is now self-grading! To pass each module, students must score a minimum of 80 points on a 5-question, AI-resistant, application-level Canvas quiz. This change provides students with instant feedback and eliminates grading backlogs.
  • Students are limited to two attempts to pass the quiz.
  • More coverage of Generative AI, particularly as it relates to developing a research strategy and academic honesty.
  • More formative practice, with “Check Your Understanding” activities throughout each module.
