Welcome to the FSCJ Author Series Learning Community. This guide will help you explore the selected books for this unique program that engages approximately 2,500 FSCJ students around a memoir and social issue that promote academic discourse in higher education. The professors who adopt the text each year provide safe, respectful, and reflective academic opportunities to discuss these issues. They also provide opportunities to participate in community service learning relevant to the topic. Students attend events throughout the academic year concerning topics relevant to the memoir, and the author visits the college at the end of the academic year for lectures that are both free and open to the public.
