Service learning provides an opportunity for students to experience hands-on learning, active engagement, and service to the community to enhance their course curriculum. Service learning also broadens students’ perspectives of real-world issues, while providing strategies for meaningful reflection on these experiences.
Here are two links you can use to learn more about service-learning opportunities available through FSCJ.
The following PDF file is two pages: (1) the Service Learning Ethics form that must be signed before your students begin their service-learning hours; (2) a time log to track their hours. Students will likely need a separate time log for each agency or organization supervisor with whom they work. If you have questions about the time log, contact the Office of Civic Engagement.
The Power Point file contains a presentation that faculty can use in their classrooms.
