This guide provides step-by-step instructions for placing UBorrow and WorldCat Interlibrary loan request through the FSCJ Library

WorldCat Step-by-Step Guide

Here's how to place an interlibrary loan request for an item in the country-wide WorldCat database:

From the FSCJ LLC homepage, under the "Research" tab click the "Databases and Journal Articles" link. 

 

Then click on the letter "W" in the alphabetical menu at the top of the page.

 

Now, scroll down and click on the link to the WorldCat database.

Search the WorldCat database by using the advanced search feature to locate books, articles and other media. 

To locate the advance search feature, click the "advanced search" link below the database search bar. 

Use the advanced search options to locate a item or items in the WorldCat database. Make sure to select the format you are looking for such as book, article, etc. 

 

When you have located an item you would like to borrow, click the item title. 

 

 

 

Next, Click on the button on the right side of the screen that says "Request Item Through Interlibrary Loan." 

  1. Fill out the required fields (Needed before, Service Type, First and last name, Patron ID, Email Address).
  2. MAKE SURE to add your preferred pickup location in the Comments field. We can send your interlibrary loan item to any of our campus or center libraries.
  3. Click "Submit request".

After you've submitted the request, the page will show you all of the request information in the form of a receipt. After we've received and forwarded your request, we will send you an email from interlibrary.loans@fscj.edu
