Welcome to the FSCJ Science Tutoring Guide Home Page! This tutoring guide was created as an additional resource for FSCJ students, staff, and faculty regarding science courses currently offered at FSCJ. Currently, this tutoring guide covers seven science courses: Anatomy & Physiology, Biology, Chemistry, Earth & Space Science, Microbiology, Physics, and Organic Chemistry.
Within each tabbed scientific course (top of home page), you will find resources such as tutoring services offered by external sites or those offered by one of the many campuses and centers of FSCJ, reading material for self-study or those used in lectures, worksheets for additional exercises and practice, links to local (where applicable) and national organizations, and much more! This tutoring guide is currently a work in progress so content and material found may be periodically changed to keep up with current trends and/or offerings by the college, therefore, all feedback, comments, and suggestions are welcomed as we continually strive to provide FSCJ's commitment to excellence in education.
Online tutoring is available to students who are taking classes in all course modalities. FSCJ's tutors are integrated into the Brainfuse online tutoring platform through an application called Tutor Match. Through Tutor Match, you can schedule appointments with FSCJ's tutors in a variety of subject areas. An advantage of selecting the Tutor Match option when you use online tutoring is that there is no monthly usage cap when you schedule online tutoring appointments with the college's tutors. We encourage you to use Tutor Match as your primary source of tutoring support and supplement by connecting with Brainfuse's tutors during the hours when FSCJ's tutors are not available for appointments, keeping in mind that there is a monthly cap of 90 minutes of usage for the Live Help, Writing Lab, and Send a Question services provided by the Brainfuse tutors. Each usage of the Writing Lab and Send a Question is metered at 30 minutes and deducts from We also remind you that there are number of free academic and collaborative tools--such as Skill Surfer, Flashbulb, and Meet-- that are available in Brainfuse. These tools are free to use and accessible 24 hours a day. We invite you to take a look at the how-to videos and other user resources that are posted on this page so that you can familiarize yourself with the system. We look forward to the opportunity to support your academic success.
