This guide provides users with direct links to digital copies of some of the best literature written over the recorded history of mankind.

Welcome to Classic Books of the Western World

row of old, leather-bound books

Welcome to Classic Books of the Western World. This is a collection of the books that are in the public domain which have been included in The Harvard Classics and the original 54 volume set of the Great Books of the Western World. These books are considered to represent the greatest works of Western culture. We have selected the best books from the various public domain e-book collections and made them accessible to FSCJ students and faculty in this convenient digital format. Most of the texts are available as downloads in a variety of formats from the Internet Archive, Project Gutenberg, Google Books, and other Web-based repositories.

FSCJ libraries have many of the print volumes available for checkout, in addition to the online options mentioned in this guide. Contact any FSCJ LLC for assistance or more information.
