Research Help

This guide is a tutorial covering the basics of the academic research process.

Google Scholar

  • Allows for specific searches of scholarly literature, including:
    • peer-reviewed papers
    • theses
    • books
    • preprints
    • abstracts
    • technical reports

                      Google Scholar

Google Scholar searches will also include links the FSCJ catalog if you are logged into the FSCJ catalog on another tab in your browser.

These links allow you to access material that are behind a paywall. FSCJ already pays for student access to these articles.

FSCJ students, faculty and staff can search for the library's paid subscription access to articles and other resources by going directly to Google Scholar.

  1. Go to Google Scholar: https://scholar.google.com/
  2. Select the Settings option from the top left menu
  3. Select Library Links and search for FSCJ
  4. Check the box for FSCJ and begin your search with Google Scholar
  5. You'll see FSCJ content displayed on the right of the search results
  6. Once you select the article, you may need to login with your myFSCJ username and password
