FSCJ Library & Tutoring Services Annual Review 2022-2023

The data included on this page represent tutoring support provided by FSCJ's tutoring staff. Prior to April 2020, FSCJ's tutoring staff only provided site-based tutoring. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, FSCJ's tutoring staff were integrated into the Brainfuse online tutoring platform through a system feature called Tutor Match. FSCJ's tutors exclusively delivered virtual support through Tutor Match from April 2020 through May 2021. In June 2021, FSCJ's staff resumed offering campus-based tutoring, and they continued to provide online tutoring support. The data beginning in June 2021 reflect this hybrid delivery model and represent both campus-based and online tutoring support provided by FSCJ's tutors.

Because the starting and ending dates for semesters can vary from year to year, for sake of reporting consistency, in these datasets the academic semesters are defined as follows:

Fall Term: September through December

Spring Term: January through April

Summer Term: May through August

The table below indicates the total number of tutoring sessions (duplicated headcount) facilitated by FSCJ's tutors during each academic semester.

Students from 125 distinct academic programs used FSCJ's tutoring services during the 2022-2023 academic year. The table below identifies the top 5 programs of study for tutoring users (unduplicated headcount).

Both campus-based and online tutoring services provided by FSCJ's tutors are included in this dataset. The location that is assigned for a tutoring session is based upon the primary work location for the staff member who provided the service.

There are two types of computer support that students may receive from our tutoring staff members: Computer Assistance and Computer Tutoring. Staff members who provide Computer Assistance can help with computer basics such as logging into FSCJ's computer systems, printing documents, navigating Canvas, and using Microsoft Office applications. Computer tutoring entails more in-depth technological support for courses that deal with digital media, coding, and computer hardware.

The table below highlights tutoring usage by students who have been designated as a part of target student populations in their student records. Designators may overlap. For example, a student may be identified as both a Veteran Student and an Honor Student and included in both counts in the table below.
