Patron entrances at each LLC are captured by automatic gate counters and logged by library staff.
The LLCs closed on March 16, 2020, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Downtown and South Campuses reopened for limited hours and services in June 2020. Deerwood and North reopened for limited hours and services in the fall of 2020. The other LLC locations had staff coming in to process library requests and operations with staggered opening dates while tutoring services remained remote. All locations were fully staffed and had returned to normal operating hours for the beginning of the Fall semester in 2021.
While the LLC patron count dropped precipitously in AY 2021 due to building closures and the shift to online learning, last year's gate counts represent an increase in student usage as more classes began meeting on campus. Gate counts also represent students coming to the LLC to access tutoring services.
