Professor Joseph Kett, Chairman of the Department of History at the University of Virginia, discusses his work on The Cultural Literacy Dictionary, which he co-authored with fellow professors James Trefil and E.D. Hirsch, Jr. The Dictionary aims to help the average American understand terminology that those in the field that are “culturally literate” assume are common knowledge.
