Acquisitions is the process by which an institution acquires new materials to add to the catalog. At FSCJ, libraries order books, board games, equipment, audio visual materials, and more. We add orders into Alma (our backend software for our online catalog), for books, board games, and audio visual materials. We do not add orders for equipment items because these are usually acquired through other funds.
Library Technical Services will facilitate adding orders for books that our purchased from our vendor. Staff at each location (generally the Administrative Support Services Specialist) will need to add orders into Alma for books, audio visual materials, and board games that are purchased from Amazon or that are received as gifts.
