Only LTS staff have the ability to withdrawn items from Alma due to the fact that it could be very easy to inadvertently withdraw an item when making changes. There are several main ways to have these items withdrawn:
1. Send in an item individually. This would be done if a student has lost and paid for an item. Just send the item information to LTS and they will withdraw it from Alma.
2. Send a batch list of barcode numbers. This would be done if you working on a weeding project and have multiple items to withdraw. The preferred workflow is to pull the items from the shelf first, scan the barcode numbers into an email, Word document, or Excel file, and then send to LTS for a batch withdrawal. Only the barcode number is needed for this process. Typically, items will be withdrawn in the system within 24 hours, if not faster, depending on other tasks. When the items are withdrawn, a confirmation email will be sent, along with a spreadsheet for your records.
3. If you are reviewing missing items that have not turned up or lost items that are withdrawn as part of the amnesty process, send the list of those barcode numbers to LTS in a process similar to the above step.
