FAQs for FSCJ’s Alma and Primo VE
Alma:
Question: I do not see the option for Manage Patron Services & Return Items under the Checkout/Checkin section in the Fulfillment tab.
Answer: Look at the top right of the screen, click on the down arrow, and make sure you are at the correct location and that Circ Desk is selected. If you do not see this option, let Madeline know.
Question: I tried to print out a slip or document but I did not see a screen that gave me the option to print.
Answer: Look at the top right of the screen, click on the down arrow, and make sure you have the “Enable quick printing” option selected. Alternatively, you can also find previous jobs you have printed by clicking on the Admin tab and then clicking on “Printouts Queue.”
Question: I am trying to withdraw items. How do I do it?
Answer: Right now only a couple of us have the permissions to withdraw items. Since there are not really process statuses in Alma, if you were to mark an item to Withdraw, it immediately deletes it so we want to limit how many users have that permission. Send Madeline the barcodes of the items to be withdrawn and she will handle withdrawing it.
Primo VE:
Question: Can I locate an item by barcode in Primo VE?
Answer: Yes. You will first click on the Advanced Search and then click on the Barcode tab.
