How to Check Status of Item

1. If you want to make sure an item does not have any transit or request status, you can scan the item in using the Scan In Items function. First, make sure that your location in Alma is set to the correct Circulation Desk. On the right-hand side of the screen, click the down arrow which will bring up the Location drop-down menu. If you need to switch your location, click the down arrow next to the current location and scroll through the resulting list.

The reason why it is critical for your location to be set first is because you will not have the option to check requests in items and if you work at multiple locations, if your location is set to a different Circulation Desk, it will prompt a transit status for the item to be transferred to its permanent location.

2. You will next click on the Fulfillment tab and then click on Scan In Items under the Resource Requests section.

3. In the Scan in Items screen, scan the barcode number in the Scan item barcode field. Make sure the Register in-house use is NOT checked.

4. In the Scan in Items screen, you will see the item listed. Note the Destination location.

5. Finally, click on the Exit button.
