How to Create New Course Reserves

A PDF of these instructions is available along with a two minute recording.

1. Click on the Fulfillment tab and then click on Courses under the Course Reserves section.

2. From the Course Screen, you’ll see all the courses listed. Click on Add Course at the top right of the screen.

3. When you select the Add Course, you’ll be taken to the Manage Course Information page.

Enter all relevant information, including the information listed below:

  • Code: should be a shortened code such as ENG 101
  • Name: use name of course as listed in campus course list.
  • Processing Department: The COURSE_UNIT Default is fine, unless you have a specific department you want to place it.
  • Start/End Date: will govern when the course is active.  End date will also determine due back date for course items.
  • Academic Department: From the drop-down menu, select your location’s code
  • Term: This doesn’t have a bearing on dates course is activate, and is used mostly for display.

Searchable IDS: these will be searchable in Primo, and can be used for course nicknames, additional instructors, TAs, or other things that patrons may search by.

4. Next, click on the Instructors tab and then click Add instructor.

5. Click the Select from a list button.

6. Search for the instructor’s name in the search bar and click on the magnifying glass icon. Then, click on their name in the results list.

7. Then click on the Add instructor button.

8. Next, click on the Campus tab, then click the Add Campus button, and click the drop down arrow to select your campus.

9. Then click on Add Campus.

10. Finally, click the Save button.
